Review of bashert
life is not always a bed of roses. The book Bashert brings us to terms with life ,which might not be a walk in the park but regardless, it is worth a shot and there is always light at the end of the tunnel. The author, Larry G. Goldsmith, takes us through the life of a character ,Michael, which turns out to be almost a miracle since a girl he saved on the street turned out to be his wife. Marriage, leave alone dating secretly was a tall order as no sooner had they moved in than hell struck. Shira's Father was to be incarcerated and they lost their mother in that whirlwind . finally they managed to suffice victoriously though they had lost their parents.
The book brings to us the importance of courtesy and generosity since this virtues are the ones which gave Michael his loving wife Shira. I love the authors fonts and how he has been able to slice paragraphs to fit in each theme hence making reading memorable and forthcoming. There is key emphasis on the aspect of marriage which the author was able to portray very positively. when it comes to marriage amidst all other activities taking place in a couples life, whether job ,challenges, it zeros down to the couple being there for each other and having some time to contemplate on their relationship.
Positivity is also a key take away from the book since they were positive even when the evidence being portrayed was overwhelming to end the case on first site. The Rabbi held on knowing he was innocent. This poses as a great lesson since the truth will always be found regardless of what one goes through, also emphasis are on living a life rid of wretchedness so as to avert any lurking haters and ill fated people. Our life is also made to be a tremendous journey we just have to knoe how to make it work in our favor
I loved Michael's persistence in catering for the wife's family through that time doing the trials and all with one heart. It would have rather been easy to walk out and leave it all behind but he hung in there. The setting of the book is also tremendous and remarkable as well as the use of dialogue in various contexts. Regardless, I disliked the continuous use of Jewish words related to their religion and given not all of us are Jews, there should have been some light shed on the same to entangle any mystery on the side of the reader. Generally, I loved the book.
I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars since it is terrific in all aspects, how the couple live loving each other selflessly with no outside affairs and also the books flow. I would recommend it to youth who are just about to board the marriage bus in order to give them a glimpse of what lies ahead of them and also show them how to sail through it all.
