Highly emotional, sensitive, and heart-touching book. This book will touch your soul and make you feel all the pain and loss of both main characters face. Every character is paid full justice, you will not fall, missing anything in the end. This book contains a great deal of pain, the pain of losing loved ones, the pain of losing a best friend, the pain of losing your blood relations, the pain of losing your dreams. More than once the loss of a star has brought tears to my eyes. Linda Keen tells Dream keeper is an excellent tale of two siblings, a boy named Thatcher and a girl named Starlet. She describes all the characters in the story with great delicacy. Every character is paid full justice, you won't fall, missing anything in the end.

Dream keeper is a story about two siblings who suddenly moved to a strange land with strange people. The O’Day kids were getting orphaned at an early age and being raised by the May family, their mother’s parents on a farmhouse in a small town in the south. They were living a very sheltered life till the day their grandmother had gone to the nursing home. No one was there to look after them. Now they had to move to the west to live with the other grandparents, whom they had not seen in ages. Kids felt it really hard to get separated from the only parental figure in their life. It left a great impact on their innocent mind. Their new grandparents were totally different from the other ones, their new grandpa is a famous poet and their new grandma is a famous artist. As they adapted to them, they were faced with the diminishing health of their loving grandfather. It causes changes in their grandma‘s behavior. She behaved rudely towards kids. Both kids have their own ways to cope up with the difficulties, life has thrown towards them. Finding a really good friend and then losing her was the tough part for Starlet.

The story is about the childhood and adolescence of brothers and sisters. Children had to go through one trial after another. Both children were forced to struggle with their own problems. The starlet is a unique child, with a very powerful imagination. She has a deep connection with dreams. She travels to dreamland and does whatever she wants. Dreams are a huge part of her life. She gets to meet the people she lost. Dreams are her way to build her life far from the "hardness" of real-life and manage her losses.

I love everything about this book. This book provides a message of positivity. IT has held a great lesson that hardships must make you stronger. Never renounce your life, for there is always a reward at the end of the trial. The other thing I love the most is the bond between the two siblings. Adding poems to this story is the cherry on the cake. The author honors the famous poet Langston Hughes.

There is not a single thing that I do not like in this book. I love that book and I want to read it over and over again.

I will give this book 4 out of 4 stars. This is really worth reading. You will not find your time wasted even a little bit. I like the writer's approach in how she encourages the kids to stay positive. I will recommend this book for all age groups especially kids. This book can really help full for those who have lost a loved one.
