The story is written in an autobiographical format and is based in 1984. This is a story of a man, who left a good job in Southern California in a circuit board factory and was traveling with his two friends Lucas and Declan from Southern California to Europe by staying at different places with their friends and families.

Book started with a beautiful poem and the beauty of the book is the songs that the writer has mentioned in between. It's a traveling story so you will also go with the writer to places where he is going. He is passionate about music and is a little existentialist. Throughout the book, he remembers collet who is his ex-girlfriend. He despises regular 9 to 5 jobs and is interested in writing screenplays for movies.

The story is quite lengthy and in starting chapters it fails very badly in keeping the attention of the reader. The story has not any storyline. Till 6 chapters book is highly boring beside some few good paragraphs. Writing lacks flow and all the humor written is a kind of failed attempt. T.L.HUGHES has written his philosophical views about life in between.

I will give this book 2 out of 4 stars. I deducted one star for the book being less interesting at least in starting and not having an interesting storyline and one for the length of the book. The book is well-edited.

I will recommend Searching for paradise to people who love to read stories about young people and stories of friendships and traveling.
