Review by Phoenix_ Thompson -- The God Child
The God Child by Stuart Rawlings is a book best described as a fictional fantasy that makes the reader stands on his toes. This book is about some legendary icons brought back to life. Icons like Jesus, Adolf Hilter, Mohammed and Albert Einstein just to mention a few. These icons are given a second chance to change the world for the better in a month time interval. Mohammed travels to his native land where he found out that all his teachings and beliefs have being altered and countless women in Islam are overlooked, he then tries to raise the point of feminism. Jesus visit the U.S. president Donald Trump twice, one at his rally where Trump discriminated Jesus for his color and secondly in the White House where he tells Trump to tell the truth. He initially changes the self-centered president to a new authentic one. Albert Einstein and Wells travels to a conference where he discovers that his work and theories have being diverted from it true idealism. This infuriated Einstein but he then moves on to convince the U.S. president to reconsider the issue of climate change by taking a video of himself jumping to an abyss glacier that has melted due to climate change.
My positive aspect about the book was the author's plot in the story. He creates an overwhelming suspense in all the journeys the different characters embark on. He then link up some of the characters who were carving paths that were almost similar, like the instance where Moses and Mohammed And Jesus went on a journey together, it was indeed amazing because in the current world, no one ever think about such scenario, even though it's fictional but it touched my soul to it's core. Moreover, the author also exposed American politics in an unprecedented details, it gives you an insight on how things are done in consideration to the constitution and this was clearly shown when cabinets, democrats, republicans and others teamed up together to "fire" Donald Trump.
My negative aspect about this book was its grammatical errors which gave me the impression that the book wasn't professional edited. I had to remove some wrong words and substitute them for the right ones which was tiring at some cases. An average reader wouldn't finish the book due to its grammatical errors which was tiring to correct them.
I therefore rate this book 3 out of 4 because the book had grammatical errors which proofs that it wasn't professional edited. The book was overall outstanding, it creates a sophisticated fiction that keep the reader begging for more.
I would recommend this book to all fictional fantasy lovers but who are not Donald Trump's followers. The Book paints the president in a different light than the president we know, so his followers maybe offended henceforth, if you are Trump's follower please don't bother reading the book.
