In the first pages of the book, I got really confused because of the sudden change of scene in the very first chapter in the transition between them talking and Rudy being with a secretary. Another thing about that scene is that still to this moment I have no clue where he was and why Chessie had to wait outside. The next transition to them meeting with his friend seemed also a little unclear; I only kind of got the idea of what was happening in that scene after a read it the second time, word by word, for being able to continue reading, thinking it may have had something that could rebound in the story later on but no, those characters never appeared again. And from my point of view, it was an unnecessary scene.

As I went through the story, from my point of view, there were more scenes that were unnecessary or irrelevant to the story, like Sally's story at the beginning or Rudy's problem with the lady at the airport. This last one also came out to me as really aggressive and I never understood the lady's intentions with Rudy or the whole scene, basically.
I don't mind this scenes being there, but I don't find them helpful in any way because, to me, they look like a sort of filling.

A thing I really didn't like was the unnecessary use of the term "bitch" when referring to a woman. If it was used in a fight, although it's aggressive, I would've understood it, but most of the times it was used only for talking about a woman in general. For example, when the police officer referred to a girl as "bitch" without being in a fight with her, or without to even be close to her for feeling the trust to call her bitch on a friendly way; he was calling that girl 'bitch' just because. Every time I read that, it made me feel mad because of the unnecessary level of aggression.

Overall, I really liked the plot and the way the story goes. It made me feel intrigued and nervous about what would happen next, because of this I couldn't stop reading. Also, the way the author wrote the story, it made me feel as if it was something real.
About the characters, although I found some behavior weird, most of the times I sympathized with them, whenever they fought I'd feel the tension or in the sad moments, I'd really feel the sadness of the scene.
Every character, even the ones that barely talk or that appear in only one chapter is well developed.

Another thing I also liked was the details. The author's descriptions where so precise I could clearly imagine the object, place, person or situation he was talking about.

After this being said, i"ll give this book 3 out of 4
