Great review! Sounds like a pretty interesting book, although I often get a little lost sometimes (like what happened to you, losing the page and all that) in historical books like these..

This book was very interesting and compelling for a stand alone novel and reading it provides you with better knowledge of the subject

Great job on the review! This book does sound interesting but at 600+ pages, it is also quite a commitment. :P

Great review! This really sounds like an interesting read about a topic I'm not familiar with. Good for you in sticking with it even though it took you the first 100 pages before you had to stop flipping back and forth. I'm glad that you were able to enjoy it! Congratulations to the author for receiving such a positive review!

This review makes me want to hurry up and read the rest of the book and it's successors. I love historical fiction and I love the history of this region. Quite interesting.

From what I could gather about the book , it seem like a book that is very well written . Also , it suggest that it explains history in an interesting way , which is rare in books this days , and shows what a great author is Helena P. Schrader

This book sounds interesting but I am not sure that I will be reading it. I don't like the fact that everything is so similar that you could get 100 pages off from where you actually were. I also don't enjoy flipping back to genealogical trees. I do like reading about Jerusalem so this book might be worth a go.

Very good review. It demonstrates a thorough and fair assessment of this very long and complex historical book. The story sounds very good. I certainly appreciate the author's extensive research. I would enjoy this book and plan on adding it to my read group. Congrats to the author on having BOTD.

Glad you liked this book so much! Sounds like even though it is lengthy, it didn't stop you from enjoying the story. I read the sample and I agree completely about the author's writing style!

Great review and congratulations to the author on such a wonderful review! This definitely sounds like a great read for people who are in to history. While it's not really my cup of tea your review really made it sound intriguing. My sister is a huge fan of the genre and I'm definitly going to recommend it to her. Thanks so much for sharing.
