Jeremy Sherr's book, The Noble Adventure of Beryl and Carol, is an exciting story centered around two young girls who find themselves one day in a magical forest that they were constantly forewarned about while trying to escape from bullies. This is where their amazing journey starts. The book interestingly talks about bravery in perilous and adventurous situations. The girls, Beryl and Carol, are presented as gifted children with strong moral obligations. I had smiles on my face as I helplessly reflected on my early years as I read through this novel. It hurts that I didn't have as many adventurous experiences as the both of them. I found their camaraderie and cooperation quite admirable. The book revealed to me the reality that inquisitiveness often leads to an even greater discovery.

I admired the girls' ability to strategize in an interesting way; that was my favorite aspect of this novel. I also admired how they were able to resolve every single problem. I like that they gave mature answers, and I interestingly found that I probably wouldn't have been able to do all that strategic thinking if I had found myself in those situations at that same age. The way the girls managed to combine their education and their outings, while still maintaining the primary goal of saving their families, really appealed to me. I may have been a little jealous of how easily they completed some tasks. The book isn't only about that, though. As I've implied, it emphasizes the value of tenacity, stressing that that quality ultimately results in success. It also proves that when you face obstacles head-on with bravery, they progressively become less daunting and easier to handle.

The book's ambiguous conclusion is what I dislike most about it. It is for this reason that I'll deduct a star, rating it 4 out of 5 stars. I didn't like that we were responsible for coming to a conclusion on our own. It seems as though the author intended for us to solve the last puzzle after thinking about it. I would have preferred a clearer ending. The book's editing is exceptional; I found no errors while reading.
