Puffy and the Formidable Foe
by Marie G. Lepkowski, Ann M. Hannon, Margaret B. Hannon
Illustrated by: Ann M. Hannon, Margaret B. Hannon

This book is one of an edition. The book is written out in rhymes which will help your child develop and learn to read. The book comes with a coloring page for your child to practice their artistic flair. The rhymes make book reading more fun and exciting for children. The book is about four characters a cat named Puffy, a mole, a rat, and a skunk! The story is about a cat named Puffy who went hunting, and things didn't go quite as planned for her. Puffy, crossed paths with what she thought was a "kitty" with an obscene odor. It was a skunk! Puffy's decision was to turn and run all the way home. Puffy will never play far away from her home again!

I like the fact that the book was written in rhymes, it made the book more exciting and fun for the children to read it. The book was written in a way which made it easy for children to understand. It also helps with communication skills. Things that make the book a little different from some books is that there is an extra page for children to color in. It helps children to learn and understand the term; “don't judge a book by its cover.”

What I did not like the most was that the story was short. I would have loved for it to be a bit longer.
The book was simple but cleverly written for children to understand. It helps children develop and understand the storyline. Its unique that the book consists of animals only.

What I like least about this book was that it was a bit too short, it could have been a bit longer.I think there could have been various stories added and maybe instead of just one coloring page, why not make the entire book a coloring book? It will allow children to color in the pages as the story unfolds. But that is just my option.

I give this book a rating of 3 out of 4 stars. The reason I gave it a rating of 3 is that I think the story was a bit too short, the story could have been a bit longer with various stories added. The concept of the book was well thought out for very young children to understand. I would have given the book a rating a 4 if Puffy the cat was involved in a number of different adventures. The reason for not giving the book a 2 is because it was written and well thought out for children to understand the storyline. I think this book would be well suited for children of the ages starting around 3 years old. I don't recommend the book for school going children; it's definitely suited to pre-schoolers only.
