Stevie Tenderheart Books WAIT A MINUTE! (An Illustrated Novella) by Steve William Laible is a children's book. Stevie's bed is his favorite place to be. This book is about his wild imagination and how he uses it to fill his bedroom with all his favorite things.

Stevie imagines what it would be like to have a host of different animals and objects with him on his bed. He would have a lot of fun, but this could have unintended consequences. He applies his unique thought process to why he might not want certain things on his bed.

The author has a unique way of expressing the thoughts of the character. He can write as though he sees the world through the eyes of a child. For example, Stevie once fantasized about having a frog with him in his bed. An adult would say that the frog would soil the place or that he would be slimy and weird to touch. But a child is unbothered by these things. Stevie deduces that the frog would likely sit on his head and not let him sleep. There are many other unique instances of the author's extraordinary ability to express his thoughts.

The book is short, and I read it in one sitting. It is an enjoyable read and a window into a child's mind. I am sure the younger ones in my family will have a blast with this book. The illustrations in this book also help the younger audience understand what the author is trying to convey with his words.

This book also features a lot of colorful text formatting. The vibrant colors and effects invoked a feeling of childish joy. However, the cover does not display this same level of colorful imagination. Although this does not affect my opinion of the book, a brighter and more colorful cover would draw more parents into buying the book, leading to more children discovering this gem.

This book is the second by Stevie that I have read. The first was Stevie Tenderheart Books - Billy Jack (The Great Escape). The books are similar in that they are both children's books. One book deals with Billy Jack and his adventures outside his bedroom, while the other deals with Stevie's love for his bedroom. This shift in tone shows the author's dynamic writing ability.

Overall, the book is very well written and illustrated. Even as an adult, I had a fantastic time reading the book. I did not spot any grammatical errors. Accounting for all the above points, I give this book a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an enjoyable bedtime story.
