Stevie Tenderheart Books Wait a Minute! (An Illustrated Novella) by Steve William Laible is an absolute gem! Parents who are on the lookout for books that not only entertain but also educate and inspire creativity in children will find this book to check all the boxes. From the moment I opened the book, vibrant and colourful illustrations greeted me and captured my attention.

The story follows a little boy named Stevie, who loves his bed so much that he fills it with all kinds of favourite things, creating a fun-filled world of adventure before bedtime. One thing I loved most about this book is how it introduces children to different animals, their names, descriptions, and characteristics. It’s a great way to improve their vocabulary and knowledge without feeling like a boring lesson.

I rate this book five out of five stars. The book isn’t just educational; the author portrays the beauty of creativity in children. An example of this is how Stevie ponders the different animals he can bring into his bed to make bedtime fun. This encourages children to let their imaginations run wild. The book also fills children with humour, which is sure to keep them entertained from start to finish. The playful language used by the author throughout the book will have both kids and parents giggling. The quotable quotes in the opening part of the book also emphasise the importance of nurturing and caring for children, which is a message I support.

I appreciate the careful editing of the book, as it flows well and is free from any distracting errors. I do not notice any negatives in the book. I found the book to be an absolute delight from start to finish. If you’re a parent, grandparent, or anyone who loves children’s literature, I recommend adding this book to your collection. It’s an educational and entertaining read that will become a bedtime favourite for years to come.
