Stevie Tenderheart Books: WAIT A MINUTE! is an illustrated novella written by Steve William Laible and illustrated by Nancy Watson. WAM! is a story of complete wonder and the silly antics of a kid named Stevie. Follow the story of Stevie as he comes up with imaginative ways to fill his bed with all of his favorite things while trying to sleep at the same time. In this novella, the appearance of all kinds of animals is guaranteed. Even the presence of a baby dinosaur wearing a bib is a guarantee!

The book was written in prose, but what sets it apart is the delightful use of end rhymes in most sentences, giving it a poetic and fun quality when read aloud. I liked the art style and how the paragraphs were written. There are some words in the passages that are highlighted in different colors. I read this to my little brother and sister, and they loved it. My brother, who is seven and can read, loved the colorful letters that were sometimes used to illustrate the word.

What I liked the most about this short bedtime story is that the writing style is very agreeable to children. It is written in a silly manner. Stevie has the air of a funny and sweet kid, and he is told in a creative manner that shows how funny children are. I also liked that there are bloopers at the end of the book. It reminds me of old cartoons that I grew up with.

In conclusion, I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. As an adult with siblings at the ages of five and seven, I can fairly judge a book based on my siblings’ reactions. And let me tell you, dear reader, they absolutely adored this one. I would recommend that parents or any adults read this book out loud to children using a fun and exaggerated tone for further enjoyment. This book is best suited for preschoolers and early elementary school children.
