Review of Stevie Tenderheart Books WAIT A MINUTE! (An Illustrated Novella)
Do your children have difficulty falling asleep? Stevie Tenderheart Books WAIT A MINUTE! (An Illustrated Novella) by Steve William Laible is an interesting and educational bedtime storybook for children. It will help make them feel safe and loved and enable them to fall asleep easily. This will, therefore, make bedtime an enjoyable session that children will always look forward to.
Stevie Tenderheart loves his bed as he gets to sleep, play, jump and dream on it. He comes up with the idea of filling his bed with all his favorite things. He decides to fill it with all kinds of balls, such as golf, beach, and soccer balls. He thinks for a minute and decides against it since the balls would prevent him from sleeping, jumping, or playing in bed. He gets another brilliant idea: filling his bed with many pets, like puppies, parrots and rabbits. This idea gets brushed off, as the pets would be a disturbance. Does Stevie come up with another brilliant idea that he settles on that he would fill his bed with and help him fall asleep?
What I loved about the book were the brightly colored illustrations that the author used. These pictures complement the author's narration and help children easily understand the storyline. I also loved the graphetics that the author uses. He uses colors to foreground the name of the color and its appearance. This not only makes the book attractive to the children but also helps them learn the different colors and be able to identify them.
There's nothing I disliked about the book. I loved the author's humorous jokes, such as Stevie's mother allowing him to bathe with pants on during his showers. These jokes make the reading experience fun for kids. I also love that the book has lessons children can emulate. The children will always learn to listen, obey their parents and do what they are told to do. Stevie even acknowledges and obeys that he would not eat snacks in bed since his mother was against it.
The book is professionally edited since I only found a single grammatical mistake. For the jokes, incredible lessons and interesting stories the author shares, this book merits the maximum rating of five out of five stars. Therefore, I recommend the book to young children from three to eight years old since the book will equip them with great lessons and help them fall asleep quickly.
