"This is awkward!" That's what my young nephew and I said when we began reading this book. This book is more of a dog's review of several animals' and birds' poops. It gives a little overview of the animal or bird, then rates it in terms of smell, taste, texture, and rarity, and finally gives an overall score. If poop doesn't disgust you or your little one, "The Very Hungry Beagles Guide to Poop," written in the perspective of the beagles M. Jackson, Lucky, Mr. Beckham, and Peanut and illustrated by Ros Webb, could be an awkwardly satisfying book.

As I said earlier, this is the book to avoid if the thought of poop makes you feel like puking. But to everyone else who has no problem with that, this book is entertaining (weirdly so) and captivating. It's a fairly short read that you can finish within five to ten minutes. I even ask why I waited so long to read it, since I could have been done so quickly. If you are reading it with a child, the excitement gets even better as you can see what their reaction is. My nephew simply said "ew!" and let out a few grimaces at the start, but not so much after a few poop reviews.

I wasn't surprised cat poop got the worst rating—it had to, considering the "wonderful" cat-dog relationship, but the other reasons given make the criticism reasonable. And generally, animals that are aggressive, like goats, have their poop frowned upon. Why do the beagles hate poop from aggressive animals? Read on to find out!

There's a ton of information to learn, not only about animal poop but also about animal temperament, diet, behavior, and much more. It's an entertaining book if you can read it without a grimace. The book is more suited for children than adults because of the simple language and writing style, but you'll still enjoy it if you do read it. This is a perfect 5 out of 5 for me. Apart from the fact that it may disgust some people, I don't find any negative aspects to mention. The editing is exceptionally well done, too.

Harmony in chaos. It's all a matter of perspective.
