I believe this book to be an intermediate or advanced children's book. The book covers concepts for children that have a knowledge based on the bible and parents who are actively involved in handing down knowledge from it. I believe the age range to be eight through ten years of age (or at most twelve). On every age level there is an understanding to be had. I wouldn't recommend it to ages younger, because I believe context around the bible is what makes this an easy read. Those that do not have this knowledge based might veer into confusion, however the book annotated the verses it pulls from at the bottom of the page which is helpful. I believe this is a book used as an entryway into bible study and whetting your appetite to either read for meaning, and searching for context clues. It holds a great narrative however in terms of its formatting, I believe less words more paragraph and space would allow children space to breath and take in what is being said without being bombarded with the sheer amount of text. I believe there can be a little more illustration-wise. I appreciated that parents who are purchasing and introducing their children to such a book are also addressed, which is also reflected in the type of parents shown in the book.Their is a sense of inclusion as well. Out of four, I selected a three, because I believe it is a great read for children getting into lengthier text and the bible. Out of five, I selected a three as well, I believe with the correct implementation of text, formatting and illustration. Overall I would definitely recommend this after it has gone back for editing. Also specify what ages you at targeting with this book. It would be easier to navigate with the correct children group who have the mental capacity to comprehend and read for meaning.
