The Very Hungry Beagles Guide to Poop by M. Jackson, Lucky, Mr. Beckham, Peanut is a children’s book told from the point of view of very hungry beagles who love to evaluate the poops of other animals. Read and laugh along with these funny dogs while learning interesting facts about the bowel movements of various animals.

I read this book with my niece. I even gave it to her to read to me while I read along. At first, I was very puzzled as to what this book was about. However, after reading the first poop evaluation, we both thought it was hilarious! My niece’s favorite chapter was the one about the chickens. She was fascinated by the concept that chickens do not pee, and therefore their poop smells like urine. We both found this very interesting. She also really liked the drawings that preceded each animal and spent a lot of time studying each one in detail. I personally really liked how vibrant the colors were, because I think it helps to capture the child’s attention better.

There is really nothing negative I could say about this book. As I said in the previous paragraph, the concept is very bizarre when you first read it. But once you get into it, you realize that it’s full of information that a child can learn, so it’s also incredibly educational.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. My niece and I really loved it! We had a lot of fun reading it together. When we finished the book, we made our own poop list, and it didn’t match the hungry beagles one at all!!! But to be fair, we just ranked the animals from most to least favorite. The book is also exceptionally well edited. We only found one small error in it.

I would recommend this book to all aunties like me! This book is great for an afternoon of learning and laughing with your little ones. I highly recommend buying it!
