Stevie loves his bed. He not only sleeps in it but also plays, hides and dreams. This book is about the dreams his vivid imagination conjures up before Stevie goes to sleep. He would love to take his bed wherever he goes and has already taken it to the moon. In this story, he dreams about all his favorite things that he would like to take to bed with him.

Part of the book is written in rhyme. That makes it even more appealing to children. Steve William Laible also uses phrases like bell-ringing bling, which will resonate (no pun intended) with kids. I also loved the simple life lessons and quotes, e.g., Steve’s reference to kind, happy people having the world as their friend.

Stevie considers many toys, animals, birds and snacks to join him in his beloved bed. At first, he relishes the experience of having these things that he loves to join him. However, Stevie starts thinking about the consequences of having the elements in his chosen collection in bed with him. Before Stevie shares his thoughts regarding the selected items, he prompts readers to think about why some of them may not be ideal to have in bed.

The illustrations are well done, and some scenarios described by Stevie are absurdly funny. The writing style makes it enjoyable for older kids to read but also suitable for parents, grandparents, or other family members to read to younger children. I think the book will be an appreciated gift, treasured by all the kids in the family. The book is quick and easy to read and an ideal bedtime story.

There is nothing to dislike about this book. It is entertaining, informative and great fun to read. I discovered only one error. Hence, I can confirm that the book was professionally edited.

Based on the above, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It will appeal to children of all ages.
