Review of Spiker the Jumping Spider Learns about Joy
Spiker, the jumping spider, was wandering in the woods with his friend Crispin, the cricket. They were learning about a new word, joy. They were having fun together until suddenly a storm appeared on the horizon. It started raining heavily. You can get Spiker the Jumping Spider Learns about Joy by J. M. Ashmore to know what the friends will do to face that storm and the other obstacles they meet along the way.
The book is a beautiful children's book. It presents great values. It teaches children some of the most important things they need in life. It gives examples of positive thinking and how to look at the full half of the glass. This is to be valued. Positive thinking makes a big difference in life. People might go through similar experiences. What makes a difference is how they deal with it. The book teaches kids about problem-solving and searching for solutions instead of whining about things. It teaches them about friendship, values, and helping others in need. It also offers some good information about different types of insects.
The illustrations were colorful and nice. The writing style was smooth and flowy. I didn't come across any errors or mistakes, which indicates the exceptional editing the book has received. There was nothing to dislike about the book. I liked the story and the moral. I appreciate the values it presents. Therefore, I rate this book five out of five stars.
The book suits all children. It also suits parents who want to read their children a good story and have a good discussion with them about it. At the end of the book, there were questions with answers that summed up what came in the book and what you could come out with. It can generate fruitful conversations. It's also nice that the writer wanted to make sure the kids wouldn't miss any important elements from the book.
