Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Snatched Up to Heaven for kids written by Jemima and Arvind Paul is a wonderful way to introduce children to the possibilities of the afterlife and religion (More specifically Christianity). The storytelling from our main character “Emma” about the adventures she and her younger sister “Bella” embark on while in heaven is great for those of all ages. Filled with great illustrations and descriptions of scenery and people, the book will really get readers involved and creating worlds of their own based off the stories of the main characters. The story is full of life lessons that can be learned as well.

The parents in the story make sure to answer questions that “Emma” and her younger sister may have, making sure that they are rooted with evidence from the Bible. Throughout the story “Mommy” and “Daddy” make sure to ask questions on how each dream has made our protagonist feel and what she may think the meaning is behind the dreams that God had Given her. The scriptures in which sections of the book were inspired by or directly referenced are listed at the bottom of the page making an easy reference guide for adults and children. The book allows room for further research at home for families and creates a basic guide for children to reference when they have questions on what they have just read.

A downside to the book, would be that it can be a “wordy” for children of younger ages. A recommendation for parents would be to read this alongside your child to fully enjoy the book together. Overall, Snatched Up to Heaven for kids is a terrific way to get your child to begin to ask valuable questions regarding their religion as well as think about the types of people they would want to be during their lifetimes.
