"The Elephant(s) in the Room" by Denny Laake and Monica Laake Beavers is a clever little children's book. In this book, readers will join Sammy the Weasel and Krammer the Dog in order to discover the truth: are there really elephants in the room, or is Krammer simply seeing an elephant that isn't there?

"The Elephant(s) in the Room" is, as I mentioned earlier, a humorous children's book. I adored reading it; the humor was in the form of puns, which I liked. Puns are one of the ways to my heart, and their usage in this book made it all the better for me. The humor was also present in how Sammy was vehement in his beliefs that Krammer was incorrect. It seemed the world was against Krammer, too, because no matter how much the poor dog tried, Sammy the Weasel missed the elephant every time! It seems silly, too, because we find a lot of hints along the way, and Sammy doesn't equate them with the elephants at all. In his mind, Krammer is undoubtedly wrong, and he's a ridiculous little dog, and Sammy is correct.

However, the elephants are right there! I found myself grinning each time we passed by the elephants, and they would somehow hide themselves in plain sight. That brings me to another feature I enjoyed immensely: the illustrations. The book's art was cute, enough to elicit giggles from children with every turn of a page. It was certainly enough to make an adult like myself smile, so for children, it's perfect. The authors went all-out to ensure everything was excellent, and we can see it throughout the book.

Because I found nothing negative about the storyline, there's nothing to say in that department. It was silly and improved my mood tenfold. However, I cannot give the book 5/5 stars because I did catch a few grammatical errors. Therefore, I give it four out of five stars.

I highly recommend this book to children aged three to ten and individuals who appreciate children's literature.
