This story is about an eight-year-old Emma who went on an adventure to heaven and hell in her dreams, alongside her sister, narrating her dreams to her parents and sister, Bella, who in turn helps to explain her dreams better according to the Bible, with the father letting the sister know that the dream is not just a fantasy but that it's real.
I love that the writer tries to describe it in ways the children can relate to regular life, like saying things like 'like we do in church'.I love that pictures were added, which are totally awesome; they give a pictorial view of what was written. The book would definitely be good to read to children because you can show them pictures so they can understand what is written.
As a mother myself, as I was reading it, I was imagining myself reading it as a bedtime story to my toddlers. The children will be excited and intrigued to know if Bella slept the next day and dreamt again and what her dream was, and they will be eager to sleep and dream of heaven because of the exciting description. I will encourage them to do what Bella did to be able to dream of heaven, and I know my kids can totally put that into action.
One thing to note is that the writer subtly added the Bible passages in little print at the end of the page so that the reader could read more about them, and that is a good one for me.
The English is simple and easy to read and there were places where he added basic home morals to let children know that what you have been taught at home is very accepted in heaven.
It was a nice read, not only for children but also for young converts. I will even recommend that Christian groups buy the book for their evangelism because of the call to action at the end of the book.
I enjoyed the book so much that I will rate it a 4 over 5 because it can be more engaging, like writing out the sounds a character makes. But overall, I will encourage all Christian homes to get this.
