Odonata by Barbara Gervais Ciancimino is a children's book about a dragonfly that had colourless wings. Odonata was different from other dragonflies. His wings were colourless, and other dragonflies didn't want to play with him, and the one dragonfly that did notice him bullied him, named Drago, who was a bright blue dragonfly. Drago one day went missing while there was a storm brewing, and everyone was afraid. Odonata went in search of him. Will Odonata find him? Or will his wings get wet and make him unable to fly?

This story is illustrated perfectly, and the text is brought to life in the illustrations. The text is also easy to understand and perfect for the intended audience. In addition to the story, there are interesting facts about dragonflies after it. The book includes bullying as well as friendliness.

I like how the bullying was addressed in the book. Sometimes, being kind to a bully will make them nicer to you. I am just concerned that not all bullies will react like this, but it is worth a try. I liked the style of the illustrations and how vivid they were, and the educational part of the book was a plus. Another plus was that I did not find any errors and believe the book has been flawlessly edited.

I rate this book five out of five stars due to there being nothing to dislike about it. I liked the story, the ending, and the fun facts at the end, making it an educational book. Something else that stood out were the illustrations, which seemed a bit unique.

I recommend this book to children between the ages of four and eight who might feel different than others and who need a bit more encouragement to be brave. Children who struggle to make friends can also benefit from this book.

We all felt different at one point in our lives. Whether as kids or as adults. This seems like a good book to introduce the kids on the topic of embracing uniqueness. I would definitely read this book to my kid as we find out if Odonata finally succeeds. Great review Ethan
