Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids Review
I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and this book was a wonderful way to introduce children to the concepts of heaven and hell. Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids focuses on a little girl, Emma, who dreams she is taken to heaven on several occasions. After her dreams, she shares what happens with her sister, mother, and father. When she is confused about something, her parents guide her to understand her questions and share bible verses to back up what they are saying. The story ends with an understanding of how to become saved, an encouragement to share the gospel with others, and an example of the sinner’s prayer.

The pictures are beautiful illustrations, and I can see children looking over them, time and time again. I like how the children in the book ask questions of their parents. You see a wholesome dynamic with both parents leading and guiding the kids to better understand the dreams. This book touches on what will be seen in heaven, what we will do in heaven, and the people we will meet in heaven. Heaven can be a difficult concept to grasp, and I believe this book does a great job of opening the doors to being curious about the topic.

Any constructive criticism I could give is that throughout the book, it seemed to be written more from the perspective of an adult talking. When the children speak in the book, the tone is still the same as when her parent speak. Maybe that’s just a personal preference, but it would be nice to see the tone be that of a younger reading level when the little girls are speaking. And there is a line on the last page of the sinner’s prayer that is not italicized.
