How do you imagine life in heaven? And how would you explain it to a child? Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul address this very issue in their book Snatched up to Heaven for Kids. The book tries to give children a picture of what heaven looks like and how to get there. The story is about the two sisters, Bella and Emma, who live a peaceful life with their parents and their baby sister and learn about the wisdom of the Bible. Older sister Emma has an amazing dream in which she visits heaven and experiences incredibly beautiful moments. She enthusiastically tells her parents about her dreams - they listen attentively and affirm that she really saw how heaven looks like. The incredibly great moments are also linked to direct quotations from the Bible.

The book manages well to link the dreams to the Bible and to describe it in a very simple and understandable way for children. Since the story is written from Emma's point of view, children can better relate to the story. The illustrations are well-chosen and designed to fit the story, but I personally find them a bit blurry. In addition, I would like to note that the illustrations are not diverse enough in my opinion, since many pictures of the sky almost only show white people. I also find that the layout of the text isn't all that appealing - I think it could be made more appealing to children.

All in all, Snatched up to Heaven for Kids is a very lovely designed book that contains a nice message for children. The text is written correctly and appealingly, the illustrations are also good. My criticisms are the layout of the text, the blurry images and the lack of diversity in the illustrations - otherwise a good book. That's why it gets 3 out of 5 stars from me. I would recommend it to Christian parents who want to talk about heaven, hell and Jesus with their children.
