Snatched Up To Heaven by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul is sweet storytelling about how a little girl named Emma dreamed that she visited Heaven, and the story followed her telling her dreams to her mother, father, and sister, and of parts of the Bible speaks of the things Emma describes.

And in the beginning, it starts as a very sweet story of a little girl who met Jesus and Queen Esther and Noah of the Ark. However, I must admit it took a dark turn which felt a little out-of-place for children when it began to speak- at the very end of what Hell was like. Speaking of how the sinners were being bit by large worms which turned to snakes further into Hell, and how the people were screaming and crying and in great pain.

Overall, the book was very sweet. Emma told of how a rainbow was wrapped around the throne of both God and Jesus and how the streets were paved in gold. How instead of working, people were spread out among the streets, worshipping God and Jesus and singing, and dancing in a large golden fountain.

Heaven was painted as a very beautiful picture- and the physical pictures were just as beautiful. The girls had a sweet relationship with their parents, as well as each other- and with God.

I enjoyed the fact that many details that were used to paint Heaven in the book were also backed up with scripture that Mom and Dad read to both Emma and her sister Bella. How in the Bible, angels were dressed in clean, shining linen, and how Mary was visited by two angels dressed in white.

At one point, Emma was confused- and thought of it unfair- about how each person in Heaven was given an award for whatever they did on Earth. I personally thought that Mom and Dad did an excellent job reminding the girls that God does what is right and it must be right if God did it- and how the Bible it states that every person was to be rewarded for their acts of goodness on Earth.

Once more, the book was very soft-hearted and tender- minus the slightly graphic part about Hell- and at the end, we got a sweet message of how important it was to share God’s word. I was especially pleased with how- unlike many short children’s books- it didn’t feel at all rushed- or even dragged out.
