First off, this book was well-edited so kudos for that. I honestly did not notice any typos or grammatical errors and I did look for them, very cautiously.
Now on to the title, "Snatched Up to Heaven" is not a title that would entice me to buy a book for kids. It honestly made me think the kids had died or something; now that is my adult thinking. So, the title took off a rating.
I would have also liked for the pictures to have captions; for example, on page 16, the picture of Esther (I suppose) and Noah (?) would do well with a caption so that we don't have to assume and would make for better interactive reading with the children but of course that is IMO. This also took off a rating leaving me with 3 out of 5.
I had to look up the reading age on Amazon because the hell description kinda freaked me out but given that it is 5-9 years old then I suppose that is okay.
The other issue I had was that the people in hell were wearing black, but this is personal because black is my favourite colour and is not an important issue.
Lastly, this won’t be the popular opinion but honestly speaking despite the book making assurances of how Emma’s parents were accommodating of their daughter, I was worried about her mental state. I feel like these kinds of dreams were too much for an eight-year-old. Also, which parents would not think “schizophrenia” if such a situation went on for this long? I do not think reading such a book to kids who would interpret that dreams = reality, especially if accommodated the way these parents accommodated Emma, would be a message that I would want kids to take on. 5-9 years is a very impressionable age. However, I would like to note that this is coming from someone who is in a very conservative country and has had a very conservative upbringing so this may not hold for kids in other countries.
