This is a book about a young girl dreaming of heaven. I love how simple it is for children to understand and can be used as the perfect bedtime story, especially for children who are being taught about religion. It’s also short enough to be read in a couple of nights and grabs the child’s attention with the amazing pictures and interesting facts about heaven. It also shows how the parents trust their child when she dreams of heaven and even hell rather than ignoring her or saying that it’s just her imagination, which I think is a very important concept children should be taught alongside religion. While this book is specifically for Christian children I can see other kids reading it and grasping the ideas of heaven and hell especially because of the simple yet creative pictures. This book also relates a lot of the things Emma says to real life like punishments which are given by God just like her parents allowing children to get a more in-depth understanding. The book also didn't have a lot of back-to-back reading which children don't tend to like allowing them to stay interested and understand what they're reading. This book seems to be perfectly edited as I found no grammatical or spelling mistakes throughout. However, I will point out that at one point when talking about hell Emma says that the people over there had no hair and right after that dialogue the book goes to show a picture of men and women in hell with full heads of hair. I’m pointing this out as children tend to notice the small details and this could lead to confusion. This book also shows inclusivity by showing people of color in the pictures however that is very limited. So while there is inclusivity, it can be seen as limited. All in all, it's a good children's book and can be used to relate the concept of heaven and hell to children. I would give this book a 4 out of 5 rating.
