I gave this book three out of five stars because the information that didn't have scripture behind it was opinion based. As a Christian, I didn't agree with some of the information that is more opinion. The church I go to teaches some different things around God punishing people as well as how we go about spreading the word about Jesus. I also have some different views about why Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I feel like some parts are scare tactics and when we focus on those, we can push people away from Jesus. So, I would just suggest reading this before you read it to your kids or gift it to someone with kids, just to make sure it aligns with what you are teaching at home. I do have a son, and this wouldn't be something I would give him to read. Again, this is because some of the things just don't align with what we talk about at home or at church. Also, I wish there was more diversity in the book, there was some, but I wish there was more. I did think it was a cool concept of visiting heaven and I liked the scripture that was referenced to back up some of those things. The illustration was really pretty and I didn't notice any spelling or grammatical errors, so I think it is a well thought out book that has a lot of love and good intentions behind it. I like that this is a family that talks about God and has open conversations with their children and helps them with any questions. It has some very sweet and funny moments between the sisters and parents. I think if this book aligns with your opinions, then it would be a great book for you and your family.
