Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids is an intro to basic Christianity concepts for elementary aged children. The language is simple to understand and the illustrations are bright and modern.

The picture book follows two sisters as their parents present the basic concepts of Christianity to them through reading the Bible. As the sisters have dreams about what they have learned which include direct interactions with Jesus in Heaven. And then the sisters relay their dreams to the parents which leads them further through the Bible story.

Although, a unique concept for a story, it was lack-luster for me. A little boring and too lengthy which lead to my 3 out of 5 star rating. There are other Christian children’s books on the market with more pep and a more cohesive storyline.

This book is co-authored by a husband and wife team from South India, and some of the wording is awkward to my American born ears and eyes. Such as the title: “snatched” isn’t a positive word that I would generally associate with Heaven.

I think it is important to note to the adults that hell is described and illustrated as well. Although, not too intense or graphic. Some Biblical truths are also falsified as there are pictures of women as angels. All angels are men according to the Bible. And although this is not covered in the text of this children’s book, if you are strict on Biblical truths being accurately portrayed, this falls short.
