Review of Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat
Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is the 7th book in the Inca Cat series, although it can be read independently. The protagonists of the series are Inca, a Siberian cat detective, and her team of fellow animal investigators.
This book follows the group as they head to the lovely island of Sri Lanka for a vacation. However, their vacation is interrupted when they receive news that an ancient sword has been stolen from the island's museum. Together, the animal detectives work to find the culprits and recover the artifact. They eventually find out who the criminals are, but how would they communicate their findings to humans? Find out in this exciting tale of adventure.
R.F. Kristi's narration of the story was excellent. Her writing style was also engaging and interactive. Her writing style was also immersive and quite interactive. Kristi wrote in such a way that I felt like I was inside the heads of the characters. I loved seeing the colorful illustrations of some of the book's scenes and characters. This contributed to a pleasurable reading experience.
The book's emphasis on instilling good values in its audience is another aspect I like. Readers can learn from the determination and resilience of the animal detectives in solving the crime. Readers can also learn to be responsible and brave from the actions of Inca. One example is when she chose to look for her lost brother, Fromage, in the dark jungles of Sri Lanka despite her fear.
The book also features interesting facts about the history and landscape of Sri Lanka. From reading the book, I've learnt about places and traditions practiced on the island.
Therefore, I am giving this book a rating of four out of four stars. There was no part of this book that I didn't like. The book has also undergone thorough editing, meaning there were no errors in the text. I would recommend this book to preteens who would love to learn more about animals. I also think that adults who enjoy animal stories and adventure tales would enjoy this book.
