Call me childish, but I love reading books for children. In the fictional book named Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat, R.F. Kristi narrates a story that will thoroughly entertain children. Most of the story is set in Sri Lanka. Inca, Fromage, Cara, and Charlotte are on a holiday with their humanoid owner named Mom. They are enjoying the warm sandy beaches in Sri Lanka when they hear that a despicable crime has been committed. An ancient sword has been stolen from the Colombo Museum.

Solo, an international detective, is Mom's neighbour in London. He has been invited by the director of the museum to investigate the crime. Solo arrives in Sri Lanka with his dog, Terrence. Inca and her associates are happy about the arrival of Solo and Terrence. Inca gets details about the crime from Terrence. Inca & Company, along with their new Sinhalese friends, try to solve the crime. Do they succeed?

First of all, I love the illustrations in this book. Particularly, I like the pictorial representation of Inca. Thumbs up to Jorge Valle for creating such beautiful images. The author uses this story as a medium to teach children the importance of synergy. Inca, Cara, Fromage, Charlotte, Terrence, and Meena work together to solve the crime.

This book is edited fabulously. I did not encounter any errors as I read the book. One thing that I like about this book is that it teaches forgiveness. Despite Fromage's misbehaviour, Inca forgives him. It is important that children learn how to forgive those that offend them.

Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is a lively, enjoyable, thoughtful, and intelligent story. After analysing the book, I did not find any negative features in the book. Consequently, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

Children that love animals will be delighted with this story. This story is most appropriate for children that are between the ages of 7 years old to 12 years old. Adults that like books for children will enjoy this story.
