Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is a children's book that continues the adventures of the self-proclaimed cat detective, Inca, and her cohorts. It is the seventh book in the Inca Cat Detectives series, and it seems R.F. Kristi has found her writing niche.

On vacation to Sri Lanka to escape the London cold, Inca continued her snoopiness when a valuable antique sword was stolen from the local museum. What new adventures awaited her and her merry band on this island? Would the agency be successful this time in its investigation?

It seems R.F. Kristi utilizes every opportunity to show a degree of artistry in her books. The cursive she uses in writing is aesthetically pleasing to behold. This adds a measure of elegance, in a childlike way, to the book's overall feel.

R.F. Kristi has established a prerogative of using pictures and illustrations in her book. It will be alien not to see them present in the book series. They add a much-needed element of vividness to her stories and make them more appealing to young readers, who are her target audience.

The characters were seen in a new location different from their home base. The island of Sri Lanka offered a different cultural setting and experience. The island had so much to offer newcomers in terms of tourist attractions, and the author highlighted those.

It was intriguing to see how the animal detective company interacted with other species of animals outside of their usual cliques. Using their points of view, we could see their perception of the outside world — how friendly and dangerous the jungle could be. We also saw how fascinating other animals saw Inca's lifestyle.

The author's writing style followed her usual format. She kept it simple. I found just an error in the course of reading. Apart from that, there were no other issues. I'd rate Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat 4 out of 4 stars. I would recommend it to any child of reading age.
