Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi tells the story of Inca and her detective company. Inca is a cat detective. This book is the seventh book of the Inca Cat Series. However, this can be read as a standalone novel.

Mom had decided to spend the holiday on the sunny island of Sri Lanka. When Inca and her family got there, they realized that an invaluable artifact had been stolen from the museum. Inca decides to put her detective skills to the test. Is she successful? Find out by reading this book.

This book starts with a picture of the family tree. The image is a plant tree with headshot images and names of the family members. I felt it was creative of the author to play with words and turn a family tree into a tree of images. There were also other colorful images, and I think this would be intriguing for children.

Like other installments in this series, this book is fun and educative. There is information about historical sites and UNESCO. I think it is great that children learn as they also have fun. The storyline was intriguing. I also enjoyed the use of suspense. More importantly, the themes of friendship, love, and forgiveness stood out for me in this book, and children could learn valuable life lessons from them.

My only concern was the number of characters in the book. It almost got confusing. Thankfully, there was a family tree for me to always check the roles of these characters. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I found no errors while reading this book. It was educating and entertaining.

This is a fun book for children between the ages of 5 and 10. Children who love animals and detective stories would enjoy reading this book. I also recommend this book to adults that enjoy reading children's books.
