Ava Flips by Ava Nebel is a cute book about a girl who likes to do flips. Writing in rhyme, Ava states the many ways she likes to flip and where she likes to perform these flips. Each statement also includes a graphic that exhibits the action Ava describes. It is a small, sweet little story that has an encouraging message for children.

The story little Ava tells is simple: she likes to do flips. The way she tells the story in rhyme will certainly have the ability to grab a child’s attention. The way she expresses herself is adorable. However, the thing I find most attractive about this children’s book is the graphics. They might not look like anything special to an adult at first glance, but the images are all bright and they really emphasize what Ava is trying to say. Graphics are the first thing that draws children into a book, so it is important for them to be well done.

For parents, I would say the book is a good choice because it will encourage your child to get back up when they fall, which is an important lesson to learn early in life. I like the fact that this book will be able to hold a child’s attention for a few minutes and also teach them something. There is really nothing I did not like about this book.

This book definitely deserves four out of four stars. Not only is the book cute and encouraging, but it was written by a seven-year-old girl who is capable of sharing her love for something through a catchy rhyme. It is an easy read for small children and a comforting choice for parents. It also appears to have been professionally edited.

I would recommend this book to any child from three to seven. This book will be able to hold a child’s interest for as long as any other book can keep the attention of someone that young. I do recommend that parents explain to their child that flipping around can be dangerous and to only do so with permission and supervision. While they are explaining that, parents should also be sure to explain the meaning behind the book.
