Sigfried's Smelly Socks! by Len Foley is a very light-hearted and interesting book about a boy who searches his room to find out what is the main source of its odor in order to fix it. From dog to baby sister explaining how a certain stench came to be, this short but funny story goes through a variety of examples of unpleasant aromas that would leave one's imagination curious about how each one would smell.

The drawings are wonderfully illustrated and keeps the eyes entertained with the author’s own art and still life photography. With each description, there is a picture or photo to go with it. I believe it aids children visually so they can see which picture goes with which smell.

I, myself, cannot find a reason to not like Sigfried's Smelly Socks!. As children still have the tendency to see the joy in the smallest thing, this will also bring laughter. It allows children and adults to relate to some of Sigfried's experiences.

I give this wonderful children's book 4 out of 4 stars for creativity and originality. I truly hope others and their children would enjoy it. It was well edited. The uniqueness of the characters is what I really enjoy. They’re whimsical and free formed adding to the comical style of this book. The rhyming scheme was enjoyable to read. The flow was easy on the easy on the eyes. Len Foley did a fantastic job with writing and illustrating Sigfried’s Smelly Socks!.

I would definitely recommend this book for parents or guardians with young children and also older siblings who are encourage to become a designated reader for their brother or sister. It allows parents or guardians to ask questions and help their children to explore the world around them and to gain knowledge about things yet experienced.
