Before starting the review, I must say, Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi is the seventh book in the whole “Inca Cat Detective Series," and I am absolutely in love with this book. Kristi, without a doubt, has created a masterpiece out of her love for animals.

This book features Inca, the famous cat detective, and her family involved in a new mystery, which is going to leave the readers awe-inspired. Inca & Company is relaxing in Sri Lanka this time, exploring the land of ancient history and vast culture.

Two thieves, disguised as cops, stole an ancient sword, along with other valuable items from a local museum, which has caused nothing but unrest. Inca & Company gets involved in this mystery, and vow to find and bring the missing objects back to where they belong. Their adventure becomes much more fun when they meet new animals on their journey. They are helped frequently by a turtle, along with an elephant, who tells them a great deal about the land’s ancient rituals. Will they be able to return the sword? What other mysteries does the country hold for them? How is their vacation going to end?

The illustrations, as always, are done by Jorge Vale. The admirable imagery adds more charm to the book, which enhances the reading experience. The artistic and colorful introductory pages of the book showcasing Inca’s family and friends are the best. Kids are going to have a delightful reading experience.

The best thing about the book is that the author has excelled at delivering many life-lessons through her story. The story will teach the readers family-love, friendship, greed, courage, and trust. To be honest, there is nothing I dislike about the book.

The book contains no profanity as it is a children’s fiction. There are no noticeable typos or errors. It is a nicely edited book. I will recommend this book to children aging between 7 and 12. It is a must-read for young readers and animal lovers. Readers searching for a nice blend of mystery and pets must read this book.

On the whole, I will rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars read. The story-line is incredibly exciting. There is a mix of action and humor in the plot. The dialogues are adorable. Moreover, the story tells a great deal bout Sri Lanka’s culture and rituals, which is beneficial for children. I hope the readers will enjoy it as much as I did.
