Review by Pstodumeje -- Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a ...
Serendipity Mystery: The Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi tells us about a detective agency called ” Inca and Company.” This agency is headed by Inca, and she is a Siberian detective cat. The agency has been involved in cracking important detective mysteries. The latest mystery is a case of a treasure that went missing in a museum called ” Colombo Museum.” Will Inca, and the detective agency, be able to solve this case?
The book also talked about Terrance. Terrance is a detective dog by profession and is reputed for his bravery. He is one of the detectives in Inca’s agency alongside five cats and a woman. The agent takes a trip to Sri Lanka for a holiday just before they look into the case. Why have they chosen Sri Lanka for their vacation? What locations in Sri Lanka did they visit?
My favorite section of this book was when Mom took the Kitties to spend the first few days in our beach cottage. She also took them on a train ride up to the tea plantations. Kristi’s writing style and compelling tone really shine through in this novel. The impeccable and captivating characters kept me glued to the pages. The author tells us about Polo. He was an excitable Pekinese pup and small in nature. The storytelling of the author was glaring throughout the book.
Another favorite of mine is the author’s descriptive ability. Kristi tells the readers that Sri Lanka is in the middle of India and Southeast Asia. The country boasted more than two thousand years of culture and has lots of elephants. I enjoyed this book because it illustrates vividly how the Kitties enjoyed the island. They ate more than they needed and ran down the garden path to the soft sand of the private oasis. They behaved like flower buds in the warm sunshine. This makes the story unique.
I found this novel completely adorable. They are such a group of fascinating animals, and it just took me back to my childhood. I liked the pace of the novel, which was neither fast nor slow. It was just right. I loved the short paragraphs and cohesive dialogues. There was nothing I disliked about this book. It was well-written and professionally edited. I did not find any errors. Therefore, I rate it four out of four stars. I want to recommend this book to children between the ages of 7 and 12 years.
