What's Your Favorite Color? by Amber L. Lassiter is a short and interactive children's book. Just like the title of this book says, the storyline is based around colors.

This book follows Amber, who after, forgetting her watercolors at home, has to borrow them from her classmates. Their teacher gave them an assignment. Each one of them has to paint something that has their favorite color. Besides that, they all needed to come to school wearing something in their favorite color. No one of the students knows what colors are each other favorite. So this also becomes a fun guessing game.

With Amber borrowing a bunch of different colors, her classmates and readers try to guess what is her favorite color. It is very exciting to read until the very end. I can see how this can be an interesting book for children. The author also has a lot of questions after every dialogue between Amber and her classmates, which makes it a more teachable and engaging book. I loved the illustrations too. They were really pretty and fitting to the narrative. The author gave the teacher her last name, and the protagonist her first name. I love that personal touch. I can see that this work means a lot to her.

There is only one error that I noticed. On the first page, the banner on illustration and title in the text was supposed to be the same, but the title in the text was missing an apostrophe. I can't say if that was intentional or not, but other than that, this book is exceptionally well-edited. I would rate it the perfect four out of four stars. I can't rate it any lower, as it is short and on point with its delivery.

I would recommend this book to all the parents and teachers with first graders or even a year younger or older. This is a perfect book that provides you with a tool for education and fun interaction with them.

I've looked at this book for review several times and never quite made the jump. After reading your review, it seems like not only a cute story but an educational one as well. It's hard to make a story both, so kudos to the author. Thanks for the review; I enjoyed reading it!
