Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is the 7th installment in the Inca Cats series. Written by R.F. Kristi, the story is a children's mystery novel that is best suggested for ages 7-12. Published by Kindle Direct Publishing, the 104 page Kindle edition story is broken down into multiple chapters that are easy for children to follow along with. The main character in the story is Inca, a Siberian house cat working as a detective to solve mysteries and save the day. Although written as one in a series of many, the story is easily read as a stand-alone, with adequate background information on the characters at the beginning.

While vacationing with family in Sri Lanka, an island country in South Asia, Inca and family are informed about some stolen artifacts from the local museum, of which includes an ancient sword. Determined to save the day and return the sword to the rightful place at the museum, Inca sets out to pursue clues that will help her on her mission to solve the mystery. Along the way, she meets a slew of helpful new friends who can offer more insight to the people and places of the jungle.

Along with the charming story line, Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat also includes artistic illustrations throughout the story that allow junior readers a chance to envision the characters and scenes as they are playing out. The editing for the story is also well-done, leaving no trace of grammatical or spelling errors that could confuse early readers.

The dialogue between characters throughout the story is cheerful and fitting for a story suggested for this age group. Although there is a bit of sneaking around and snooping involved, the characters are careful to show that they are positive role models for younger readers who are looking for adventure. The pace of action and suspense for the detective's journey seemed fitting and adequate for the specific age group of readers without drawing the story out too much to maintain interest.

Although I am an adult reader, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Inca and family and would gladly recommend Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat to young readers. As a mother who is consistently looking for the next fun read for my 8 year old, I have already peaked his interest in mentioning the story and am looking forward seeing how well he also enjoys reading it. I'm pleased to rate the story 4 out of 4 stars and am looking forward to sharing the adventure with my son, as well as exploring the other adventures described by Inca and the rest of her family.
