Are you looking for a fun story with colorful illustrations that will make the kids laugh and giggle? It is important to find a book that will spark a child’s interest in reading and create some cherished childhood memories along the way. Better yet, maybe the story could become a tradition and your kids might be reading it to their own children someday!

I do not have any children of my own yet, but I look forward to starting a family in the future and finding some fun stories to read to them. I’m in the Toilet… Please Don’t Flush! by Len Foley is a cute children’s book that tells the story of an overheated frog, who decides to take a dip in the cool, toilet water. The toilet is a risky choice for a swim however, as it might be contaminated and may get flushed! This story contains easy flowing rhymes and has a funny, surprise ending.

I really enjoyed how lighthearted and easy the sentences in this book were to read. Young children are more interested in colorful illustrations and fun, little rhymes than a plain page full of words. The story is also quite silly and is likely to cause giggle fits for both the reader and the listener. Everyone needs a good laugh, especially children.

One of my favorite parts of this book were the illustrations that filled the pages with life and bright colors. The characters were silly looking and the little details that were added helped to bring the story to life. I believe that this is a key factor for keeping a young child’s attention to the book.

The only negative thing I saw in I’m in the Toilet… Please Don’t Flush! was that the word “cesspool” was used. I felt this word did not fit well within the story and stuck out to me. I would have liked it better if it would have been described as “a pool full of sludge” or something along those lines that might be easier for a child to interpret and picture. Also, there is a chance that this story may encourage children to want to put their toys in the toilet. Hopefully not, but it could be a possibility! I also did not find any typos or problems with the grammar. Considering the factors that I discussed, my rating for this book is a 3 out of 4 stars. However, this is something that I would recommend for parents of young children. It is a silly, cute story with beautiful pictures that is likely to bring a smile to everyone in the room.
