From wrecking a drug cartel to saving his adopted father, there truly is no limit to what Justin Reed, a juvenile delinquent turned secret agent, can do. The book starts out with Justin and his adopted father, Bob, on a plane in a hostage situation. Right when you can’t stand knowing what happens next, you are thrown back to three days prior to the situation on the plane.

Justin gets into a fight with the football team, because the star linebacker was teasing a kid with cerebral palsy, and Justin had to do something. Of course, with his CIA training, he defeats the entire football team with ease. This quickly goes viral, as a teen taking on and defeating a football team is no small feat.

He doesn’t really get into trouble with Bob, but to spare Justin the assaults from the press, Bob takes Justin on a mission to Tel Aviv, where the plane they are on is hijacked by terrorists. Even here, Bob tries to control Justin, but once an innocent man is taken hostage, Justin feels as if he has no choice but to help this innocent man. He does, and it all goes downhill for Justin and Bob from here.

With every mission comes an unexpected element of danger. In the book Code Name Dodger: Mission 3: Jihadi Hijacking by Eric Auxier, this element is incorporated and built upon masterfully. From riding a plane with terrorists, to being captured by the agency they are both working for, the author, Eric Auxier, plays upon your heartstrings, making you unable to put the book down due to sheer anticipation.

What makes this series unique is the fact that you can start from book 3 and still understand what is going on, what has happened, and what may happen. The true beauty of the series doesn’t come just from this, but from the fact that people of all ages can enjoy these adventures. The book was well edited, but I still found a minor spelling error. On page 96, the author writes “bucketlist” instead of “bucket list.” While this is a minor problem, it needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

All in all, the book Code Name Dodger: Mission 3: Jihadi Hijacking was a thrill ride that I will not soon forget. With only one grammatical error that I could find, I am proud to award this book 4 out of 4 stars.
