Jihadi Hijacking: Code Name: Dodger Mission 3 (Volume 3) by Eric Auxie

This story shows an incredible hero in an surprising character. A newly adopted teenager Justin, and his adoptive father Bob are the two main characters. But, although that would be interesting that isn't 1% of the story. Unbeknownst to his teenage friends at school, Justin has been involved with his adoptive dad with his job as a spy. The book starts out with Justin not putting on his spy hat, just being a kid. He excels scholastically and is great at sports. He does use his past spy training to rescue a physically challenged student from bullies, and gets suspended.

So, when his adoptive dad goes on a mission he decides to bring Justin with him thinking that it is the easiest solution. But from that point on, it is a hair-raising thriller with life or death moments, intense scenes with Justin's unique humor, intrigue and twists.

If you like disaster movies like Earthquake or Tidal Wave, enjoy other movies like Spykids, and like books that keep you on the seat of your pants, this book is for you.

I am rating this book with 4 out of 4 stars. Being the opposite sex and over 3 times Justin's age I still easily identified with him. I enjoyed reading another book from Eric Auxie having read his first book Code Name: Dodger: Operation Rubber Soul (Code Name: Dodger Book 1). If they had more choices of ratings I would have given his first book in this series a 4 out of 4 stars, and this one a 3.95 out of 4 stars even though I thoroughly enjoyed this one it didn't quite go into the characters in depth as much as the first book, other than the main character, Justin. I wish there was more mention of his life before his recent adoption by Bob, at the orphanage with Randy and the other characters from the first book as I would have liked more interactions with those characters whether it be more phone calls, a visit or some way to keep those characters alive as well. I still could not put this book down though so it still gets the highest rating there is.

What I think a reader would love about this book is in addition to the suspense and thrilling passages, Justin's personality which in dire circumstances and everyday times remain a lovable constant with humor and endearing qualities. There will be surprises and the plot moves fast. I do have to warn you though, If you start this book in the evening before bed you may be up for the time it takes to finish.

Wow, sounds like a fast-paced thriller- my cup of tea! It is rare to find a book marginally better than its sequel. I actually thought the book was to do with terrorism. You are right, a peek into Justin's earlier life may have made his character more relatable. Great review!

Thank you for your comment and compliment! I actually had the first book in this series as my favorite for a while, (it was that good) I loved the characters at the orphanage which I didn't see as much as I wanted in this one. But, overall they were both great books!

Sounds like a great book with a lot of action in it. It does remind me of Spy Kids. I think there was a new movie out to a couple of years ago. Agent Cody Banks, I think. Thank you for the review.

I've read your review before this, and it is good that you've found the piece as almost worth reading as the first book you've read. This reminds me of the Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, and Bobbsey Twins series I used to read when I was younger several decades ago. I can't perfectly say I've outgrown such stories, though, especially when I'm on one of our family movie flix times. Thank you for your thoughtful review.

The use of a young boy as a spy sounds really interesting. I have read other books that use the same technique and I loved them. I am sure I would enjoy reading this one too.

The premise is quite unusual! It is great that the author portrayed the characters in a relatable way.I believe this book will be suitable for me. Thanks for the great review!

This series sounds interesting not only for teens but for adults. I like what you said about Justin, "Being the opposite sex and over 3 times Justin's age I still easily identified with him." I like that an author can write a series of books that can be enjoyed by a wide range of audiences. Too bad that the characters were not as well developed in this book.

I immediately thought of spy kids, even before you mentioned it! Thanks for the review; this sounds fun for people who enjoy spykids like things. I think I’m a bit beyond it at this time, but that doesn’t make it not fun for others!

Can I ask what the title of the book refers to?

My husband will love this book! Those movies aren't my cup of tea but he loves them :P

This is actually great praise and it speaks volumes of the author capacity of charactert development. It's hard to create such a relatble character!

Thank you so much for your candid and enthusiastic review.
