Island Games: Mystery of the Four Quadrants by Caleb J. Boyer

This book Island Games: Mystery of the Four Quadrants is about two boys named Ryan and Matthew who have no idea how they got on the island that they are on and try to get off it. Along the way they face many trials in their strength but also in their friendship. Will they succeed to get off the island and keep their friendship, or fail and lose everything?

This book is a young adult action story. Perfect for young minds in high school and early college! This book should be given a 3 out of 4 stars review. There’s is just enough action that it is not overwhelming to the reader, and lots of good humor! The boys in the story, Ryan and Matthew, have such different personalities but do really complete each other really well. Plus the boys seem more realistic in this than some other stories because of the humor they bring. Especially Ryan! What’s also good about this book is how the boys are trying so hard to keep their friendship together while they are the only two people they can talk to. It can be hard not getting space from people you see every second of every day and it’s amazing to see how they handle it so well!

The only problem to the story is the humor. It’s not bad, it just might be at the wrong moments for some people. Some people love it and some people don’t. It really just depends on you and the type of story you like.

Caleb J. Boyer was born in Fargo, North Dakota, and grew up in the community of Moorhead, Minnesota. He became an avid reader at a young age, and continues to enjoy reading. Some genres he reads are action, adventure, and sports books. As of now, he just wants to keep reading and writing. He wants to have the world understand how reading affected him and helped him and wants others to know it! Some activities that Caleb J. Boyer did other than reading and writing are sports.

Caleb J. Boyer has only written Island Games so far. The Kindle version of Island Games was published on December 6, 2017. It was first published in 2016 by CreateSpace Independent Publishing. Let’s hope to get more books from him very soon! He also started his own company to inspire people to want to read more!
