Review of Teen Life Skills
The teenage years are one of the most important stages of life. It is the age when decisions and choices are made that affect or determine how your adult life will be; it is the age between childhood and adulthood when you're just discovering a lot of new things and pressure is on you not to make mistakes. It can be a very challenging time and very scary to navigate. But it doesn't have to be, especially when you have a guide on how to navigate your teenage years and avoid the mistakes that others have made. "Teen Life Skills" by Florance Philip is a guide or an instructional book for teenagers where the author shares 101 essential and insightful skills that schools don't teach.
Florance Philip in "Teen Life Skills" writes about her experience growing up and having to navigate through her teenage years. She recognizes that this is a very important period of life, and she doesn't want other teenagers to make the mistakes others have made, probably because they did not have a guide or the necessary skills to succeed as teenagers. She writes as a mother who is concerned for her children and wants them to have all that they need to navigate the teenage years and become responsible, successful adults in life. These life skills vary from handling money to learning table manners, social manners, understanding your sexual orientation, how to manage your emotions, and many more.
The addition of the activities section at the end of each chapter is one of the standout features of this book. After reading a chapter, the author then gives activities for the readers to do based on what was discussed in the chapter; this ensures that what they read is not just head knowledge alone; they get to apply it while reading the book.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and I found nothing to dislike about the book; the arrangement of the book was excellent, and also the fact that the author included quotes in the book made it unique and made the reading experience wonderful. I did not notice any typographical errors in the book, and I commend the editor for such excellent editing.
I rate the book 5 out of 5 stars. The book contains invaluable information that every teenager needs to have to succeed in life and live a life of happiness. I highly recommend this book to teenagers all over the world. It's the choices that you make today that will determine your tomorrow. Learning to make the right choices as a teenager requires you to have a certain skill set, and this book is a guide to having those essential life skills for teenagers.
