Opaque by Calix Leigh-Reign is a book that follows the story of a boy named Adam born and raised in the town of Piure. Adam had no love for humanity, as his mind was filled with darkness and hate for those around him, be it his family or friends. Adam, despite having no love and compassion for people around him, had this lustful love for his mother, JoAnn. Things took a massive turn in Adam's life when he met Carly, a new student at school. Carly had captured Adam's mind, and Adam was obsessed with Carly and grew more and more likeness to her. Adam grapples with the feeling of being lied to after realising he was adopted and embarks on a journey of understanding who he truly is and finding his true origin. Wouldn't you want to join Adam in this journey of uncovering who he truly is? If so, give this book a read.
 
I want to say I enjoyed the romance between Adam and Carly. I liked how their love for each other grew slowly in a very organic manner. Readers would appreciate the romance between them, as they can sense the genuineness in their love, which makes it difficult not to root for them. I want to also highlight how exceptionally the author developed the characters in this book. This is evident in Adam, from someone who had this burning dislike for human existence to someone who becomes more tolerable and empathetic towards people. The growth and transformation of Adam's character is one every reader would appreciate, and it also highlights to readers the importance of personal growth. I want to also say I enjoyed the author's storytelling ability in this book; this plot was very fascinating and engaging so much so that I couldn't put the book down as I was eager to know what would unfold next.
 
Regarding ratings, I give this book a perfect rating of five out of five stars for the many reasons I have stated prior. I had no dislikes about this book, so there was no reason to deprive this book of a perfect rating. I found no grammatical errors of any sort in this book, as this book was edited exceptionally well. Furthermore, I commend the author for this, as it's a good display of the author's undeniable commitment to ensuring that readers have a wonderful reading experience. Not only that, but I recommend this book to readers who love books with themes of romance.
