Teen Life Skills was a really informative book for teens. There was so much different advice on each page that I know would be helpful for a teen, especially one that would be going to college soon. I think that every teen should have the opportunity to read this book to gain so much more knowledge on things that their parents wouldn't even think about teaching them. Out of all the teen books that I've read, this one was the most thorough. The author had a way of explaining everything in not a boring way, but something that could catch the attention of teen readers.

The author covered all of the skills that any person could ever need. There was different recipes and even how tos on using basic appliances. The book would be especially helpful to teens and new adults who's parents didn't teach them a lot of life skills, but also a teen who's parents have taught them a lot. There is always something to learn from the book. The beginning did kind of throw me off because instead of life skills it started to talk about puberty. I think that was just kind of out of place in a life skills book that's more for older teens and new adults.

Some of the things I could tell were being written by an adult because there were a few skills that I feel like most teens wouldn't care about or most teens know by the time they become a teen. I feel like the author was writing about more what the author's generation would like to know as a teen, not what the current generation needs to know. The author did have some really good points though that I think all ages should consider doing, like taking certain classes or learning certain things. So for that reason, I think that the content was better than average teen books, but not as good as it could have been.

For all these reasons, I decided to rate this book a 3/4 and a 4/5. There definitely could be some improvements, but I think for an adult to try to hook teens in, it was definitely a good try. I liked how the book wasn't as long as a fiction book, but it still held all the information in depth that the author wanted to get across. I do feel like it was a little long for a teen to read through it, I feel like after fifty pages, a teen might get bored.
