The first book in Cālix Leigh-Reign's Scotia Saga is titled Opaque. Adam Caspian, a disturbed young guy with a perverted and sinister worldview, is the main character of the tale. Adam experiences intense cravings and powerful desires, especially toward his mother, JoAnn. He's also learning more about telekinetic powers. Adam is first drawn to Carly, a recent university student, for no apparent reason. It is revealed that Carly is a "descendant", one of a group of individuals with improved biokenretic skills. She informs Adam that he, too, is descended from the powerful Rozovsky family. Adam quickly discovers his skills, his past, and his life's mysteries. Adam and Carly need to use every resource available to them to skillfully navigate unforeseen situations. This imaginative and engrossing supernatural tale skillfully addresses difficult issues of power, identity, obsession, and the consequences of one's decisions.

The plot takes an intriguing turn at the end with Carly's entrance. The book's universe is intricate, thoughtfully thought out, and well-developed. Adam's inner struggle between obsession and love, light and dark, is also very fascinating. The suffering of Adam is depicted by the author fairly well.

Even though I felt that there should have been more seamless scene changes and a more straightforward historical foundation, the book was still a terrific read overall. Peculiar writing! I appreciate the book's ability to immerse me in its world. I love the layout of the book; it made it easier to read and delve into the world of the book. I also didn't notice any glaring grammatical errors; the author did a fantastic job.

The book is a complex, dark, and imaginative story. I rate the book titled Opaque 5 out of 5 stars because it beautifully delves into themes of identity, power, obsession, and the consequences of your decisions. The story has an engaging premise and complex world-building. It's a wonderful read.
