In the heart of Piure, a tale of self-discovery and unearthly powers unfolds with Adam Caspian at its centre—a young man burdened by a life he never asked for and emotions he cannot fathom. His world is upended when Carly Wit crosses his path, a kindred spirit with secrets of her own. As they peel back layers of their identities, they are drawn into the enigmatic world of their descendants, where their genetic heritage endows them with abilities that challenge the very fabric of reality.

Opaque by Calix Leigh-Reign is a journey through the complexities of the human heart as Adam and Carly confront their darkest fears and deepest desires. The narrative is rich with the exploration of descendant lore, the struggle for control over one's destiny, and the fight against a clandestine organization that threatens their existence. This story is not just about the supernatural; it's a profound look at the bonds that form between two extraordinary individuals against the backdrop of an extraordinary world.

What I like about this book is JoAnn's character. She's got this realness and love about her that hits home with Adam. Even though people expect one thing, she's just herself, and that's cool. The way she connects with Adam shows she's got a lot of layers, and you can't help but like her for it. She's got a big heart, and you can tell she means a lot to Adam. It makes her someone you want to root for in the story.

There is nothing to dislike about this book because it's full of mystery and suspense. You're always guessing what's going to happen next. Every chapter leaves you with questions that make you want to keep reading. It's like a puzzle you can't wait to solve. The secrets and the unknown stuff about the Descendants' powers just pull you in more. It's exciting to not know what twist is around the corner. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free.

I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars as JoAnn's character is so real and loving, especially towards Adam. Even when others expect her to be a certain way, she stays true to herself, and that's pretty awesome. The connection she shares with Adam shows she's complex and genuine, which makes her easy to root for in the story. The book deserves a solid 5 stars because it's full of mystery and suspense. Each chapter keeps you guessing and wanting more. It's like solving a puzzle you can't put down. The secrets about the Descendants' powers add an extra layer of excitement to the story, making it even more captivating. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries and thrillers with strong character relationships and intriguing plot twists.
