Review of Opaque
5 out of 5 stars
"Opaque" by Calix Leigh-Reign is an absolute gem in modern fantasy for its gripping narrative, well-developed characters, and the seamless blend of supernatural elements into the fabric of a relatable teenage world. Calix Leigh-Reign has crafted a tale that goes beyond the realms of the ordinary, delivering a thrilling and emotionally resonant narrative. "Opaque" is a testament to the transformative power of friendship, love, and self-discovery, making it a five-star masterpiece in modern fantasy literature.
After reading "The Opaque", I am thrilled. My favourite character from the beginning is Adam. I love Adam's character from the start. He is a complex, moody teenager who is struggling with inner demons. I appreciate his struggle with darkness and inappropriate thoughts, which add layers to his personality and make him a refreshingly flawed protagonist.
Additionally, I liked how the author's introduction of Carly, a new student, catalyzed Adam's self-discovery and set the stage for a journey transcending reality's boundaries. The evolution of Adam and Carly's relationship is beautiful, providing hope amid the darkness that initially envelops Adam's life. The author skillfully navigates the delicate nuances of teenage emotions, making the characters relatable and authentic. As the two characters fall in love, the story unfolds into a powerful exploration of self-acceptance and the transformative power of genuine connection.
From my perspective, the story is unique, and this uniqueness forces me to give an extra star to the whole story of the book, where the discovery of supernatural powers, encounters with mysterious creatures like the Iksha, and the existence of a secret facility all contribute to an immersive and unpredictable storyline. The revelation of a spy within the town adds an extra layer of suspense, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The strength of friendship is a recurring theme that resonates throughout the narrative. The diverse group of characters, each with their abilities and backgrounds, adds depth to the story and reinforces the idea that true family goes beyond blood.
I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the book. Also, I couldn't find any negative aspects of "Opaque". While I noticed many things on every page, I couldn't find any typos or errors. The book has only good elements. Calix Leigh Reign's writing style is brilliant. The cover page is excellent, and the book's flawless editing deserves extra stars. I commend the author's ability to explore dark themes while maintaining a sense of hope and redemption. Overall, I am pleased to have read this book, and I suggest all readers who want to see the ability to weave together the elements of fantasy and reality seamlessly get a copy of "Opaque".
In conclusion, "Opaque" is a must-read for fans of fantasy and coming-of-age stories.
