Review of Opaque
Name of the book: Opaque
Author’s name: Cālix Leigh-Reign
Summary: The book ‘Opaque: Scion Saga Book One’, written by Cālix Leigh-Reign, is a young-adult fantasy filled romance novel that revolves around teenage love. The book is packed with action and thrill, which revolves around two teenagers who try to find their way of living this life in this chaotic world. Adam, one of the novel’s teenage protagonists, is ready to go beyond anything to rise above and apart from society. Clearly, he opposes how the present community functions. Adams finds her mother attractive (can be said the teenage hormonal thing), but it changes when he meets Carly, and this is where Adam is found making efforts to change himself for good. Thanks to Carly, Adam starts taking interest in the world around him. She taught him numerous things, mostly about himself. This is where Adam comes to know about the extraordinary powers he possesses that he inherited as genes from Russian bloodline. Throughout the book, the readers will find a mixture of love, forgiveness, family, and coming to light from darkness.
Positive: There were moments where I needed to stop reading and sit there filled with the feeling of awe. What I meant by this is that I needed to take a moment to take in what the author just mentioned. Cālix’s captivating writing style drew me to a totally unique world. I would suggest the readers give this book some time before it grabs your attention because in the start of the book, the author takes her time to introduce the characters and the scenario.
Negative: Though the book contains extreme profanity , I still I wouldn’t put it into this section of the review because sometimes these words help to covey the emotions from the writer to the readers. Other than this, I didn’t find anything that can be put into this section of the review.
Rating and Justification: There is no way I wouldn’t rate this book a 5 out of 5 because of it’s amazing storyline. Reading the prologue of the book made me realize that I’ll enjoy reading this book, and I wasn’t wrong. I like how this book tests the patience of the reader because it doesn’t readily attract the reader but takes time to build interest as he/she is ready to invest time in it.
Recommendation: This contains some major profanity, which makes it unsuitable for children. This book will be a good addition to the book shelves of those who are interested in literature and enhancing their vocabulary. I would recommend this book to something
Errors: I didn’t find any errors in the book while reading it. The book is exceptionally edited.
