Calix Leigh-Reign has done a fantastic job in writing this stellar of a book. Opaque had me captivated from the very first page to the very end. Adam is a very troubled teen that is on his way down a very dark path. That is until he meets Carly, a new girl who has joined his class. Adam is immediately enthralled by her. Opaque follows the stories of Adam and Carly, two Descendants of an almost extinct Russian bloodline, with extraordinary powers, who are being hunted down by Russian scientists known as the Iksha to obtain the Descendants powers by any means necessary. With twists and turns at every opportunity this book will keep you wanting more. I cannot wait to read the next two instalments of the Scion Saga.

I feel that this book has been very beautifully written. Calix Leigh-Reign has done a brilliant job in keeping the reader engaged throughout the entirety of the book and always questioning what will happen next. With plenty of twists and turns throughout it will keep you wanting more.

The main things that I feel would have made this book better and therefore increased my rating was that there were a couple of spelling and grammar errors within the book. I also feel that at times the book moved a little bit too slow for my liking, especially near the beginning. I feel that if these areas were a bit more fast paced this would have improved my overall rating.

Overall, I would rate Opaque 3 out of 4 stars. My main reason for this rating is that there were a couple of errors throughout the book. The beginning of the book moved a bit slow for my liking, but I was still captivated from the start. However, I feel that the book has been extremely well written and Calix Leigh-Reign knows how to captivate and engage her readers through the tone of her writing.
